Changing the Game for Youth Sports Injuries – Introducing the KIME Human Performance Institute Foundation.

January 2, 2025

Being in the sports medicine and injury prevention space for over 20 years has taught me a lot about youth sports—and the challenges that come with youth injuries. For decades, we’ve known how to reduce injury risks, but making progress has been incredibly difficult because so many
believe, “injury won’t happen to me.”

Thankfully, this sentiment is starting to shift. Today, more athletes and parents are proactively seeking ways to keep athletes healthy, and KIME HPI is here to guide them with best practices and tools to make this a reality.

Yet, injuries in youth sports continue to skyrocket. Nearly half of all athletes are now at risk of moderate to severe injuries over their careers. These injuries don’t just impact the moment—they affect confidence, friendships, and, in some cases, an athlete’s lifelong health. Orthopedic injuries that are mismanaged in youth can contribute to chronic diseases later in life, including
depression, anxiety, obesity, diabetes, and heart disease.

We can—and must—do something about this. The KIME HPI Foundation is committed to educating our community and empowering athletes and their families with the tools they need to
break this cycle.

The first step is to get tested. Through our team assessments, we take just 8 minutes per athlete
to evaluate their strengths, weaknesses, and injury risks. Each athlete receives a personalized
report and actionable coaching to enhance performance and reduce injury risk. We offer these
assessments at no cost to the community because we believe in giving our youth the opportunity
to thrive—not just in sports but in life.

Together, we can stop this trend and give the next generation a strong foundation built on
confidence, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence.
